Guidelines: The rules of the guild, and what we expect
Active playing
This is somewhat self explanatory, however it is understood that real life takes precedence, and thus it is understandable if you will need periods of inactivity. We instead act just for pledges that free time spent on AoC will be fruitful and beneficial to yourself and as to the guild as a whole. Victory is achieved by dedication. Given the circumstances that this is in fact a game, PRIMARY goal is fun. This means arguments are kept non existent or to a minimum. Problems with policies, issues, certain members, will be directed and dealt in a private, organized manner with the leaders. In this way we can be certain everyone enjoys their experience, and success within the guild and game is not hampered by petty avoidable situations.
Loyalty to the guild
While a member of AG, you are forbidden to join or play on other guilds within the server. There will be minor exceptions to this; however, main characters must be kept within guild. This is to ensure that strategies we use, as well as your efforts kept in benefit of us showing concern for our success. Orders and decisions made by leaders are absolute and not to be openly denied. Leaders sink much time in the building of a strong victorious, yet fun guild. What might not be perceived as fair for someone may in fact be what is best for us all to grow. This includes positions and ranks awarded, item distributions, and roles on raids and parties. We are however open to suggestions, and if you possess a varying opinion, discuss the matter privately so that a solution can be worked out.
Tolerance
We do not police the community, only within guild. Speaking down on members on serious manner is forbidden. We are comrades and must strive to improve TOGETHER. Growing together is the greatest way to achieve this. Give helpful suggestions, not insults. Failure to comply with one or all of these rules could result in demotions, suspensions, loss of certain rights, or expulsion. Expulsion from the guild is permanent.
Guild Dynamics: How things will be operated
Pvp Parties
Teams will be decided based on class, skill level, and interests. Usually we will run together as a single group or groups with proper member distribution of healers, tanks, damage. In the case groups have to split, this will be decided based upon the situation. Most often (however not always) individual groups will be managed by an officer, type lead, or a person of higher position and more experience with strategies.
Leveling Parties
Help your fellow guildies! Sometimes slightly slower exp for yourself, is less important than helping a guildy level who’s class might not be well suited for lvling.
It wont matter how strong you are if our utility, support, tank classes are weak.
** As of 6/6/08 leveling parties will be mandatory for all higher end level guildies, to help bring up the lower ends. Times will be changing, but for now the set schedule is M, W, F 8:00PM EST to 12:00AM EST. **
Voting
Many activities and decisions will require guild input, and thus voting will be held. The breakdown for voting is as follows:
Regarding general vote on guild matters:
- Poll will be held at website
- Majority wins vote
- A major procedure changing circumstances may require a 2/3 vote majority in change
Regarding recruitment of new members:
- The leadership ultimately has discretion on who can try out and join, however;
- In case of uncertainty, he may feel to open vote to guild, in this case a new member may only be accepted to guild by majority support. If 5 or less members turn down a new member, valid reasons must be given as to ensure fairness for new recruits.
Gaining Full Membership(from new recruit):
What will be observed:
- Cooperation will be THOROUGHLY tested
- Ability to listen and take good advice to grow as a better player is important.
- Loyalty to guild, dedication, respect for other members.
- Maturity, on all levels.
Until you are a full member, you will not be allowed to partake on certain raids and activities. This is to ensure that our older more active members do not get replaced needlessly. This is also so that others cannot easily ride off our successes, and drain our gains before proving loyal.
There is no such thing as a bad player (usually not), instead there is only such thing as a player unable to listen and follow suggestions and orders. Everyone will be assigned roles according to their strengths and capabilities. We feel that first and foremost it is your ability to carry out these roles intelligently that will define you as an asset.
All rules and policies are subject to change at the leader’s choice. As the guild grows, and further success is gained, additions and changes may be necessary to achieve a fluid and successful guild.
Most of all….. have fun.
